The head of AMCU Pavlo Kyrylenko illegally enriched himself by 56.2 million hryvnias

The National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced the announcement of suspicion to the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) Pavel Kirilenko in illegal enrichment in the amount of UAH 56.2 million and declaring false information. Suspicions were raised under Articles 368-5 and Part 2 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, Pavel Kirilenko, holding the position of Head of Donetsk Regional State Administration in the period from 2020 to 2023, acquired a considerable amount of real estate and luxury cars, registering these assets for his wife's relatives.

List of acquired property

The suspect, as NABU noted, has purchased the following objects:

  • 7 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhgorod with a total area of ​​688.5 square meters. m;
  • A house near Kiev 220 square meters. m;
  • 2 garage boxes;
  • 6 parking spaces;
  • 3 non -residential premises with a total area of ​​more than 190 square meters. m;
  • Luxury car BMW X3.

These assets were not reflected in the declarations of the person authorized to perform the functions of the state, for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Pavel Kirilenko's career

Pavel Kirilenko has headed the Donetsk Regional Military Administration for more than four years since the summer of 2019. Earlier, he held the post of military prosecutor of Uzhgorod garrison of the western region.

On September 5, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Kirilenko from the post of head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. On the same day, the Verkhovna Rada liberated the chairman of the AMCU Olga Peschansk, and on September 6, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal made a submission to the Verkhovna Rada on the appointment of Pavel Kyrylenko to the post of chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

On December 22, 2023, Zelensky appointed Deputy Kirilenko in the AMCU of his former deputy from Donetsk regional administration Maxim Sandig, who also previously worked with Kirilenko at the Prosecutor General's Office.
