Google has completely disconnected Russian users from monetization

Google has finally stopped providing monetization services for users from Russia. In particular, AdSense users, including website owners and video bloggers, lost access to and the ability to earn through this service.

"We are deactivating all AdSense accounts with Russia as their country of location. This means that it will be impossible to earn profit from monetization through such accounts. Earnings for July will be paid between August 21 and August 26, if the account is not suspended from receiving payments and payment thresholds have been reached," the Google Payments team said in a statement.

"Thus, website owners and video bloggers from Russia working on the YouTube platform will completely lose access to Google AdSense and the services provided by the advertising network," the message reads.

As reported, earlier the Google AdSense service had already imposed restrictions on the Russian user audience. Starting from March 2022, the display of ads on the territory of the Russian Federation has been disabled in the Google advertising network and a ban on the creation of new accounts by Russians has been introduced. "Now the company has decided to sever all business ties with publishers from Russia," the publication notes.

At the beginning of August of this year, the Russian authorities began to slow down YouTube. Alexander Khinshtein, the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy of the Russian Federation, explained this by the fact that video hosting "with impunity" violates Russian legislation.

At the same time, the State Duma of the Russian Federation announced the rapid blocking of all Google services in Russia. Also, according to the Russian deputy Oleksii Didenko, the Android operating system will be blocked.
