According to the National Bank of Ukraine, in 2024 the volume of money transfers from abroad to Ukraine decreased by 17.2% compared to 2023. The total amount of funds transferred (official and unofficial channels) was $ 9.6 billion, which is $ 2 billion less than in the previous year.
Last year, about $ 2.5 billion was sent to Ukraine through payment systems, which is 4.6% less than in 2023. The average amount of one international transfer increased to $ 267 (in 2023 - $ 256).
The largest amount of funds in Ukraine came from the following countries:
- USA – 19,39%
- Israel – 16,80%
- Germany – 10,80%
- Italy – 10,21%
- United Kingdom – 9,41%
Unlike international transfers, domestic translations have increased significantly. In 2024, their total volume reached 1.336 trillion UAH (equivalent of $ 33.2 billion), which is 83% more than in 2023.
The average amount of one internal transfer amounted to UAH 1231 (in 2023 - 862 UAH). The largest proportion of these transfers came from the Privatmoney (56.97%).
Despite the two -time increase in the National Bank of the discount rate in December and January, banks are not in a hurry to increase deposit rates. At the same time, Ukrainians continue to keep their funds on bank deposits, expecting more favorable conditions.
Financial experts say that further dynamics of transfers will depend on the economic situation in the country, the level of inflation and the National Bank's policy on banking rates.
