Winter 2024 promises to be a weather close to the climatic norm. Forecasters predict moderate cooling, snowfall and slight temperature fluctuations depending on the region.
According to the Ukrhydromet Center: the average temperature in Ukraine will vary from -4 ° C to +2 ° C. In mountainous areas, the temperature is expected within -1 ° C ... -5 ° C. In Transcarpathia and south, columns of thermometers can rise to +6 ° C. The monthly rainfall will be 34-78 mm, and in mountainous areas-up to 105 mm. Snow cover is possible in the southern regions, which is a rarity for these regions. Meteorological winter in Ukraine usually begins in the first decade of December, when the average daily temperature decreases below 0 ° C. In the southern regions, this process takes place later - in the second decade.
Different regions of Ukraine will meet the beginning of winter in different ways: West: clear and dry weather. The air temperature will be from +3 ° C to +7 ° C. North: variable cloudiness, temperature +2 ° C… +4 ° C. East: the coldest region with a temperature of 0 ° C…+1 ° C, despite sunlight. Center: low cloudy and temperature +1 ° C… +4 ° C. Wet snow is possible in Cherkasy region. South: dry weather with rare cloudiness, temperature +2 ° C… +4 ° C.
According to climatic data, December can be both cold and anomalously warm. Temperature records ranged from -38 ° C in the Carpathian region to +25 ° C in Crimea. The average amount of precipitation in December is usually 30-66 mm. In the southern and mountainous areas, this figure can reach up to 139 mm.
December 2024 in Ukraine is expected to be stable and close to the climatic norm. Forecasters are advised to prepare for colds and precipitation, especially in mountainous areas and regions with probable snow cover.
