Hackers stole four million hryvnias from the accounts of Ukrainian enterprises. This was reported by the press service of the Attorney General's Office on Monday, July 14. According to the investigation, an organized group of at least three persons has made cyberattack on accounting systems of legal entities using harmful software.
The attackers acted purposefully, penetrating into the information systems of leading industrial enterprises. After the software, they were able to access financial data and deduct funds from bank accounts.
Law enforcement officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the crime, as well as checking the possible involvement of other persons in cybercrime. It is also work with blocking further cyberattacks and increased protection of IT infrastructure of vulnerable sectors of the economy.
The prosecutor's office emphasized that hackers chose by their target those companies that have considerable strategic or financial importance for the Ukrainian industry.
