The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Ilon Musk, expressed a forecast for the rapid end of the war in Ukraine, noting that this would be possible due to the "peace plan", which can be offered by the newly elected US President Donald Trump.
Musk, known for his statements on geopolitical issues, stated that "the meaningless murders would end soon" and that time for the "palaces of war" has passed. According to Newsweek , this plan provides for the creation of an 800-mile (1300 kilometer) demilitarized zone along the front line, within which British and European troops will be located. The United States, in turn, undertake to equip Ukraine to restrain possible offensives by Russia, but European countries must take financial and military responsibility for creating a buffer zone.
As part of this plan, Russia is proposed to preserve the occupied territories in Ukraine, while getting guarantees that Ukraine will not join NATO for the next 20 years. However, analysts say, such a plan has several significant comments that can make it problematic.
One of the main ones is the fact that part of the Kursk will remain outside the Kremlin's control. In addition, the presence of EU peacekeepers in Russia, which is part of the buffer zone, will probably become an unpleasant point for Moscow, and will cause denial from Ukraine by recognizing the occupied territories.
