Iran can in the near future transfer to Russia launcher for small-range FATH-360 ballistic missiles, which have a radius of action up to 120 kilometers. This was reported on May 9 by Reuters with reference to Western security services.
According to them, if deliveries occur, these systems can be a new threat to Ukrainian troops in the front line, as well as to settlements near the front and in the border regions. This will also confirm the further deepening of the military alliance between Moscow and Tehran.
Last September, the United States stated that Iran had already delivered rockets to Russia by the sea, but then it was not about launchers. The sources now claim that their transmission is not far off, although the causes of delay remain unknown.
US sources report that Iran has already provided Russia with more than 400 small-range ballistic missiles, probably type FATH-360. The installation of these rockets makes it possible to strike at high reaction rates, which increases the pressure on Ukrainian air defense.
Experts estimate that such supplies can complicate Washington's diplomatic efforts. In particular, to prevent the initiative of US President Donald Trump on a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine and to jeopardize parallel nuclear negotiations with Tehran.
According to sources, the current delay in delivery of installations could be partially conditioned by these negotiations, which are conducted through misleading. Iran on Friday confirmed his readiness for the next meeting of meetings.
Some technical difficulties could also affect the transmission. FATH-360 starting installations are based on European trucks that need adaptation, in particular due to lack of appropriate equipment in Russia after combat loss.
Military analysts warn that the appearance of FATH-360 on the front will allow Russia to store strategic missiles, such as "Isanders", for blows deep into the rear, and new Iranian systems are used for massive shelling of the collision line and border regions.
