The story of one gift that returned to its owner decades later

We all remember the moments when Christmas gifts gave the best emotions. However, there are also stories when the gift does not fall into the hands of the recipient immediately, but only a few decades. This is the incredible situation of 53-year-old Tim King from the state of Illinois (USA), who, while repairing the bathroom in his parents' home, came across a surprise that remained hidden behind a wall for over 40 years.

The story begins with the fact that Tim helped parents renovate the bathroom. During his work, he came across an old box wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. "When I pulled the parcel, I saw a very old Christmas wrapper. I realized that my name was written on the box," the man recalls. As it turned out, it was his gift, which he did not receive in his childhood. Tim says that in 1978, when he was still a boy, his mother sat next to him when he opened this gift. Inside the package was a toy-a set of "thunder jets" from MatchBox, popular with children in the late 1970s. Tim cannot say exactly how the gift was behind the wall, but puts several versions. Perhaps when his parents hid gifts in the attic, one of the packages accidentally slid behind the wall. Whether the house is older, or the time that has passed, did their work, but this gift went unnoticed for decades.

While 53-year-old Tim has grown up, toy aircraft became part of his children's memories. Interestingly, despite such a find, the man did not admit whether he continues to admire the models of planes at his age. And yet, this incredible surprise after 46 years became a real holiday for the whole family.

Tim decided to share his belated Christmas gift with the world by posting a video on Instagram. Today, the video has collected thousands of views and likes, and also raised many comments and questions from users. Be that as it may, Tim's story is a reminder that sometimes the best surprises come to us not when we are waiting for it.
