The Israeli military provided videos and photos that they say that Hamas uses a basement of a children's hospital in Gaza to store a large number of weapons. The hospital specializes in the treatment of children with cancer.
The military also reported that hostages were held in the hospital basement. There are suspicions that these can be the same persons who were captured on October 7 in Israel. According to a spokesman for the Defense Army of Israel, Daniel Hagari, a makeshift toilet, a small kitchen, as well as ropes that may be tied hostages to chairs were found in the territory.
Hagari defined this place as the Hamas command and control center and noted that the organization was using this hospital as a stronghold to wage war against Israel.
In addition, the Israeli troops found a motorcycle with traces of shots, which, according to them, was used to deliver hostages to the Gaza sector.
These disclosures call into question the humanitarian nature of the use of a medical institution and indicate the possible use of Hamas civilian objects for hostilities.
