On November 11, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel said that some progress was made in resolving the conflict with Hezbolla in Lebanon. According to him, Israel is ready to cease its land operation, provided that Hezbollas retrees a safe distance from the country's northern border and refrain from obtaining new fire systems.
The diplomatic attempt to reach peace, through the mediation of the United States, has now faced the problem - the absence of a deterrent mechanism necessary to sign a peace agreement. Saar noted that without this mechanism, long -term truce is threatened.
Israeli negotiations on the peace agreement include both American and Russian channels. In particular, last week, the Minister of Strategic Issues of Israel Ron Dermer visited Moscow to discuss the ways of achieving a truce. Russia is expected to play an important role in preventing the supply of Hezboli weapons through Syria, where the Russian military is present.
For her part, Hezbolla has not yet received official peaceful proposals and is only watching the activity between Washington, Moscow and Tehran, waiting for the negotiations.
