The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an agreement with the Romanian Government on the construction of a new road border bridge across the Tisza River. This Agreement establishes agreements on the erection of a strategic infrastructure object on the Ukrainian-Romanian state border between the settlements of Bila Tserkva (Transcarpathian region, Ukraine) and Siget-Marmaci (Romania).
This was reported by Taras Melnychuk, a permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada.
Building a bridge will be an important step in strengthening the cross -border cooperation between Ukraine and Romania, as well as facilitate transportation between countries. The new border facility will contribute to the development of economic, cultural and tourist relations, and will become part of the renewed road infrastructure of the region.
The project is expected to have a significant impact on trade and logistics, reducing the time to cross the border and increasing transport efficiency.
Upon approval of the agreement, both countries should start preparatory work, including design, allocation of funds and reconciliation of technical parts.
The construction of the bridge also corresponds to the European integration aspirations of Ukraine, as it deepens relations with the Member States of the European Union.
