On May 14, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the roadmap, which is necessary for the opening of the first negotiation cluster with the European Union under the name "Fundamentals of the EU accession process". Prime Minister Denis Shmigal has informed about it.
Approved documents cover key areas:

Ensuring the rule of law,

public administration reform,

Functioning of democratic institutions.
These steps, as noted by the head of government, correspond to both the international obligations of Ukraine and strategic documents of the state development.
In addition, the government approved the negotiation position of Ukraine within the first cluster. This allows you to move to the next stage on the way to membership in the European Union.
“We make important steps to EU membership. Our goals are unchanged: this year to open negotiations for all six clusters, and after the war is an integral part of a single Europe, ”Shmigal stressed.
This decision is part of the broader strategy of integration of Ukraine into the European Union, which provides for the harmonization of national legislation and institutional practice with European standards.
