In 2025, during 36 unscheduled inspections in cafes and restaurants, a violation of anti -tobacco legislation was detected in 80% of cases. This was reported by the State Consumer Service, noting that the violations are serious and financial sanctions were applied.
Among the main violations found by the controlling bodies were the following:

Smoking hookah, tobacco and electronic products in food establishments - 31.4%;

The absence of plates on smoking prohibition - 37.3%;

Advertising and stimulating tobacco sales - 27.4%.
As a result of these violations, up to 23 enterprises were applied financial sanctions totaling UAH 1.1 million. Of this amount, more than UAH 650 thousand was paid voluntarily, the rest - forcibly.
These data indicate a low level of adherence to anti -touric standards in catering establishments, which threatens the health of visitors and violates legislation that should protect citizens from passive smoking.
