Kenya is covered by mass protests with victims and detentions

In Kenya, on June 25, large -scale anti -government protests dedicated to the anniversary of demonstrations against tax raising in 2024. According to Reuters with reference to Amnesty Kenya, at least 16 people were killed, most of the police.

Amnesty Kenya Iruno Chauton said that the data was confirmed by the World Human Rights Monitoring Organization and the Kenchr National Commission for Human Rights (KNCHR). At least five dead were gunshot wounds.

Thousands of people went to Narobi, Mombasa, Kitten, Kisia, Matu and Nier's streets to honor the memory of more than 60 killed during last year's protests accompanied by parliament storm.

In the capital, Nairobi police used tear gas and waterfalls to accelerate protesters. Knchr has declared excessive use of force, including the use of rubber bullets, combat ammunition and waterway, which caused numerous injuries among participants in actions, law enforcement officers and journalists. The police are now refusing to comment.

The Independent Agency for Police Supervision (IPOA) has reported at least 61 detainees.

The Keniat National Hospital in Nairobi has accepted more than a hundred wounded, most of whom were injured.
