Kia has announced a large -scale recall of 22,883 EV9 electric vehicles 2024–25 model years in the United States. The cause was a defect in the seat mounting found at the manufacturer's plant in South Korea.
Details of the problem
In some cars, EV9 models do not contain bolts that secure the seat of the second and third row. This can lead to unreliable passengers in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.
The company noted that the defect arose due to a human mistake at an assembly plant. Although cases of accidents or injuries related to this problem have not been recorded, customers can hear rattles or notice seats loosening.
Characteristics of KIA EV9
Kia Ev9, which entered the market in 2023, is the first three -row electric off -road manufacturer. The model has been highly appreciated for design and functionality, but this problem can throw a shadow on its reputation.
What to do to owners
Kia plans to carry out free check and eliminate defect for all EV9 owners. The company calls for customers to contact dealerships for prompt solution.
