There are also favorable conditions for the cultivation of thermophilic crops, which could previously be found only in the southern latitudes. However, this requires the modernization of irrigation: rainfall and dry periods forces agrarians to switch to drip and underground irrigation systems.
Another promising direction is the expansion of the agricultural zone north. For example, growing sunflower and corn is already extended to Polesie, which has previously been of little suitable for such crops.
