KMVA explained why they do not open ground stations

The Kyiv City Military Administration does not plan to open the metro stations located on the surface during air alarm. KMVA spokesman Mikhail Shamanov explained that this decision was dictated by the care of the life and health of the residents and guests of the capital.

Mikhail Shamanov emphasized that the fragments of whipped missiles and drones, which works to knock down Ukrainian air defense, pose a real danger. They can fall on the areas where the subway land stations are located.

The termination of the ground subway during anxiety is a forced measure aimed at minimizing the risk of passengers.

Despite the repeated appeals of the residents of the capital to see this decision, the KMVA is firmly on its own.

The spokesman acknowledges that the temporary closure of the stations creates some inconvenience for passengers, but this is a necessary measure. At the time of the alarm, the traffic of the metro and land public transport stops to avoid potential tragedies.
