North Korea leader Kim Jong In assured the Security Council of Russian Security Sergei Shoigy that Pyongyang retains Russia's unchanged support in her war against Ukraine. This became known from the message of the North Korean State news agency KCNA, which conveys the results of the meeting between the dictator and the Russian official.
In his statement, Kim Jong Ence stressed that Russia's support for its struggle for national sovereignty, territorial integrity and security will remain a stable choice of the DPRK Government. "The unchanging support for Russia in the struggle for the protection of national sovereignty and security is the decisive will of the DPRK government, which will be preserved in the future," said North Korea leader.
Kim Jong Ni and Sergei Shoig also discussed the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on a comprehensive strategic partnership signed last year between Russia and the DPRK. They expressed their readiness to continue expanding cooperation in security and other important areas. As part of this partnership, two countries are set up to intensify exchange and further cooperation.
Shogu was thanked by Kim Jong In solidarity in matters related to Ukraine. He emphasized that Russia greatly appreciates the achieved level of strategic relations with North Korea and is focused on deepening these relations in the future.
The meeting between Kim Jong Inom and Shoigu took place against South Korea intelligence reports that North Korea had sent more than a thousand of its military to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine. It happened against the background of major casualties among the 11,000th North Korean contingent that was already in Russia.
