Russian citizens actively sign contracts for service in the army, guided by the hopes of great payments and the rapid end of the war. At the same time, the expenditures of the State Budget of the Russian Federation for new contractors reach billions of rubles daily.
The analyst of the German Institute of International Affairs Janis Kluga stated this in his posts on the Substack platform and social network X (Twitter).
According to Klyughe, only in mid -March, the daily number of contracts for service in the Armed Forces has increased to 1 300 people across the country, which gives more than 30 thousand recruits a month. The analyst is based on the analysis of open data from 37 Russian regions, which has been extrapolated throughout the Russian Federation. One of the reasons for such a sudden growth, he calls generous "subscription bonuses", which are offered to recruits at the regional level. But it is equally important, according to Kluga, it is widespread among the Russians waiting for the end of the war in the near future. Janis Kluga also calculated how much such "mobilization under contracts" for the budget of the Russian Federation. According to him, the state alone spends 2 billion rubles daily on signature bonuses alone (about $ 24 million). Thus, only in March the contractors paid 1.74 trillion rubles. This creates a significant burden on the budget, given the high costs of war and sanction pressure. The key date in the increase in the number of contracts was March 18 - the day when a telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin took place. It was then that in Moscow, the number of recruits increased from 90 to 140-150 people a day, which was shown by journalists of the edition.
This coincides with the spread of news about the alleged approach to peace talks. In addition to a set of contractors, the Kremlin also declared a spring call. According to the plans, 160,000 constituents should be recruited to the army, which is 20% more than in previous campaigns. This is another signal about the preparation of the Russian Federation for long -term conflict, despite official speculation about peace.
Meanwhile, in parallel with "peaceful rhetoric", active fighting on the front is ongoing, which raises more and more doubts about the sincerity of the Kremlin's statements about the possibility of a truce.
