NATO countries are planning a special operation for demining the Black Sea

Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria, NATO members, are actively working on a demining agreement to neutralize mines that fall into their part of the Black Sea in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

According to three anonymous sources, the Deputy Ministers of Defense of these countries plan to gather in Ankara on November 22 in order to finally reconcile details for the formation of a detachment. However, whether the final agreement will be signed after a two -day meeting remains unknown, one of the sources said.

This meeting took place several days after the Commander-in-Chief of the Turkish Navy, Admiral Erjument Tatlioglu, expressed his disagreement about the presence of NATO's other NATO allies, including the United States. He indicated that this could increase tension in the region.

If the Agreement is concluded, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not receive the status of NATO operation, but will become the first significant joint action of the Black Sea Allies since the time when President Putin ordered the war against Ukraine in February 2022.
