Quadrobing: a new trend among teenagers — a danger or a way to express yourself?

Quadrobing, a new trend among children and adolescents, attracts the attention of psychologists and parents. This activity, which includes the use of quadcopters to perform tricks and figures, raises the question of its safety and impact on young people. Experts urge parents to communicate with children and offer approaches to reduce risks, but not forbid, considering it as a way of expression.

Psychology Tatyana Tatarinseva, commenting on the capture of children by a new trend of subculture Quadrobic, said it could be a response to the crisis.

Quadrobic is a new trend of subculture that combines physical activity with imitation of movements and sounds of different animals, both domestic and wild. The peculiarity of quadrobics is the movement on four extremities and the performance of various tricks: jumps due to obstacles, fast running.

The basis of "Quadrobing" was the Japanese sprinter Kenichi Ito, who was teased as a child as a "monkey" as a child. Then the runner decided to turn him into his advantage. He studied the movements of the monkeys and developed a technique of movement on four extremities. In 2008, Kenichi even set a Guinness World Record.

The wave of a certain popularity of the subculture of quadrobers also appeared to Ukraine. However, people often confuse the subcultures of quadrobers and trucks. The latter comes from the English word, which means fluffy. In fact, Furi appeared much earlier-in the second half of the 20th century. Their main feature is dressing in animal costumes from cartoons, comics and books. Furi are endowed with human features: facial expressions, erecting, and intelligence. Unlike quadrobers, the trucks are not exercised, and for many adults it is a hobby with a slope in cosplay, not a way to attract attention in social networks.

With regard to quadrobing, it began a new wave of popularity thanks to trends in Tiktok applications. The younger generation began to load rollers in which they are in suits and four extremities at home or in crowded places.

Psychology Tatiana Tatynetseva told the children whose age is more prone to capturing quadrbing.

"According to my observations, elementary school children. That is, there is just a transition from playing to educational activities. If a child is crisis, there is no motivation to study that makes the psyche? The psyche begins to adapt, because a lot of tension and she begins to degrade ...", - said Tatarinseva.

The psychologist noted that there are different directions of quadrobers.

"As they say, they can eat more animals. They can also go to the tray. You imagine how much the psyche degrades ...", - said Tatarinseva.

Psychologists ask parents not to stay away. In this case, they advise to discuss everything in the format of equal dialogue with children, not to apply punishment.

"The ban will not help. I have a positive case in my practice that the girl has decided that she would not be a quadrobe. How? We started to deal with her, what are the pros when she would be a quadrobeer and what disadvantages and determined that she will have more advantages in human likeness."

In addition to the circle of communication of the same "quadrobers", the child may encounter a misunderstanding of the elders. And among peers, representatives of such a subculture can be victims of bullying.

"… In order for the child not to enter the neurosis, it is necessary to communicate. And to communicate especially in the evening, when the child is ready to open and tell the parents what happened," Tatarinseva said.

According to the psychologist, animal behavior is the answer to the crisis.

First of all, parents should explain to their children how society works and that they are also part of it.

Psychology Oksana Gomel, commenting on situations where children, teenagers are playing and can move borders - barking on dogs, cats - said that teenagers are still looking for themselves, do not understand all the risks and play. You just have to tell them in time to "stop" at least the person on the street.

According to her, it can also be an escape from reality for teenagers.

"Society is, especially teenagers, it is looking for something new. Teenagers want to be original, they do not want to be like everyone. They want to be recognized among peers. Because a deficient group for teenagers is important - it's peers ... So I do not see any such problem. If it is a boy, as a boy, it is a boy.
