Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorsky stated that the only state that potentially be able to influence Russian President Vladimir Putin is China.
According to the Polish diplomat, today's relations between Russia and China have a clear hierarchy. "Russia is now an economic vassal of China," Sikorsky emphasized. That is why, in his opinion, in the case of the threat of trade embargo on the part of Beijing, Moscow would have to change their policies.
At the same time, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry acknowledged that such a scenario is now unlikely. China is still a cautious position on Russia's full -scale war against Ukraine, declaring "neutrality", but in fact continuing economic and diplomatic cooperation with the Kremlin.
Sikorsky's words were heard against the backdrop of active discussions in the international community regarding the role of China in global security and its impact on the countries leading aggressive policies.
