The United States warns of increasing China's support for Russia in the context of war against Ukraine, pointing to the supply of Kremlin satellite images for Ukrainian objects.
Against the background of growing signs of military cooperation between Russia and China, the latter gave Russia satellite images for military purposes, as well as microelectronics and machines for tanks, according to persons who are familiar with the situation. Joe Biden expressed his concern to Si Jinping during their telephone conversation this week regarding the support of China's Russian defense-industrial base, said the spokesman for the White House National Security Council Adrienn Watson.
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently refrain from commenting on the situation. The official Beijing is mostly neutral about the full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, but in 2023 the volume of trade between Russia and China reached a record $ 240 billion.
However, Russia has increased exports to China, such as coal and oil. It is equally important that China and Hong Kong have become key access to restricted technologies for Moscow, including chips and integral schemes required to create weapons. In response, the US and the European Union have made several Chinese companies that make these deliveries, but until trade shows signs of reduction.
