The People's Republic of China responded sharply to the call of its ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, calling the actions of the Ukrainian side an attempt by political pressure. This was stated by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the NGO Jiakun during a daily briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, April 23.
The challenge of the People's Department of China to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry became the reaction of Kiev to, as noted, evidence of China's assistance to the Russian army in the war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian side pointed to the supply of components that can be used for military purposes, as well as the possible involvement of Chinese companies in providing logistics for the Russian Armed Forces.
In response, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that "China strongly opposed unfounded accusations and political manipulations." According to him, Beijing does not recognize the data provided by Ukraine as reliable and considers Kiev's actions "unproductive for dialogue".
"We have clarified China's position on the relevant issues. China has always held a responsible and restrained position on the war in Ukraine and consistently calls for peace and negotiations," said Ziakun.
Earlier, Kyiv has repeatedly expressed anxiety about growing economic and technological cooperation between China and Russia, especially against the background of Western intelligence statements about possible dual -purpose deliveries that can be used in the defense industry.
