China allocates a record $168 million for weather management technology

China invests an unprecedented amount of $ 168 million in the development of weather management technologies, including sowing clouds to stimulate rain and snow. This is part of a large -scale program aimed at combating drought, supporting agricultural production and improving the conditions for the population in arid regions.

One of these tools is to sow clouds using dry ice and silver iodide to call rain or snow. It helps to provide precipitation in arid regions, reducing the threat of drought and maintaining agriculture with water.

Every year, China creates about 55 billion tons of artificial precipitation and plans to increase this figure to 280 billion tons. The program involves 35 thousand specialists.
