China, together with the countries of the Global South, has announced plans to create a plans for "Friends of Peace", aimed at political settlement of war in Ukraine. This was announced during a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Van I I with the main special adviser to President of Brazil Selso Amrime in the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
According to Van, a new platform, which is also joined by Pakistan and other countries, aims to speak objectively and rationally about the Ukrainian crisis. The minister stressed that "peace friends" are not a closed format, but seek open dialogue without intent for competition with other initiatives.
Van Ї emphasized the constructive role that the platform can play in the political settlement of the conflict, noting that "both parties can continue to work together to reach a common consensus." Such statements were supported by the AMIRIM stories about the Peace Plan, proposed by China and Brazil, which, in his opinion, is of great importance for reducing tensions.
Earlier, Van I assured that China did not curtail its efforts to reach peace in Ukraine, emphasizing its objective position on the "Ukrainian crisis". He rejected the accusations of supporting the Russian invasion, stating that such criticism had no reason. At a meeting of the UN Security Council, China Minister of Foreign Affairs again stressed the need to cease fire and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia to avoid further expansion of the conflict.
This development shows that China is trying to take an active position in the international arena, offering alternative variants of peaceful settlement of global conflicts, including war in Ukraine.
