In Lithuania, at the request of the Ukrainian authorities, a program that enabled Ukrainian refugees to receive free higher education is stopped. About it reports LRT with reference to the official statement of the Lithuanian Ministry of Education.
"We organize all the help of Ukrainian citizens living in Lithuania in accordance with the needs of the Ukrainian State in cooperation without encouraging brain leakage from Ukraine. This is the desire of the Ukrainian side. There are higher education institutions in Ukraine, there is no need to translate training anywhere," the Ministry of Education said.
Students who are already studying this program will finish their studies for free, and recruit new ones from September for free education will cease. But some higher education stated that they intend to continue the program at their own expense.
Ukrainians who have received secondary education and passed the state exams in Lithuania will be subject to the same general admission procedure as Lithuania and will be able to claim budgetary training.
