According to the latest data, which became known through secret documents, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been financially supporting Iranian nuclear cores over the years and organized their studies in Russia.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is part of the UN system, helped Iranian nuclear scientists working on Ayatoll's dictatorial regime. This is stated in the confidential files regarding the Iran nuclear program that got to the German edition of Bild.
The IAEA not only provided financial support to Iranian researchers, but also organized their studies in Russia, which is an aggressor country. Documents indicate that the agency's representatives met with Javad Karimi Sabet in Vienna in early 2022.
Karimi-Sabet, under US sanctions since 2020, is a key figure in the development of an Iranian atomic bomb. Internal electronic correspondence shows that the IAEA paid Karimi for participation in cash meeting, since the bank transfer was impossible because of sanctions. In 2018, US Presidential Administration Donald Trump left a nuclear deal with Iran and strengthened the sanctions against Tehran. In response, Iran limited external control over his nuclear program.
According to confidential documents, the IAEA subsequently launched the financing programs of Iranian nuclear science. At the end of 2019, the agency, together with the Iranian side, determined the purpose of the IRA2018001 project.
"The activity will be aimed at improving the skills and knowledge of scientists and improving hardware and software infrastructure, which will help to improve the work and use of research reactors," the documents read.
Experts say that research reactors can be a source of plutonium, which, together with 90% of the Uranus, is needed to create nuclear weapons. According to Bild Am Sonntag, IAEA also funded numerous Iranian scientists training programs in Russia. The selected experts sometimes have been trained under the leadership of the Russian corporation "Rosatom". Although the IAEA was to ensure that the Iranians did not receive knowledge of nuclear weapons, this control is probably not always carried out.
