French President Emmanuel Macron has made a call to stop the supply of Israel's weapons in an interview on France Inter. In his statement, he stressed that priority should be a return to the political resolution of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian movement of Hamas.
“We condemned Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 and recognized the right of Israel to defend ourselves, but as a democratic state. But Israel must respect international and humanitarian law, ”Macron said.
He noted that France "does not fight terrorism and against terrorists, sacrificing civilian populations."
In addition, Macron commented on Israel's operation in southern Lebanon, saying that "the Lebanese people cannot be sacrificed and Lebanon cannot become a new Gaza sector."
