The wife of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Marina Poroshenko, appealed to the court with a lawsuit about the division of property with her husband. This is confirmed by the decision of the Kryzhopil district court of Vinnytsia region. The claim was filed on March 27, 2025, and the preparatory meeting was scheduled for April 29, 2025.
According to the information specified in the court register, the claim concerns a large amount - 17 102 703 811 UAH. This amount is much higher than the statutory threshold for simplified court proceedings, so the case will be considered under the rules of general lawsuit.
Petro Poroshenko's lawyer, Igor Golovan, in a comment to Liga.net said he could not provide more details than those contained in the court register. According to him, filing this claim does not mean divorce between spouses. "Divorce is a separate process, and property affairs are a separate process," Golovan explained.
The property dispute between Poroshenko's spouses, although attracted much attention, is not exceptional. In Ukraine, similar cases often occur after long periods of living together and the accumulation of significant assets. However, in this case, the amount of the claim is unprecedented and is of particular interest in society.
At the moment, public statements about the reasons for filing the claim are not disclosed, and most details are under trial. This may be due to a high level of confidentiality characteristic of such cases concerning large financial assets.
