Mass Liberation in US Health Care

US Presidential Administration Donald Trump has launched large -scale dismissals of employees of major US health care agencies, including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Medicinal Management (FDA). About it reports Reuters on Tuesday, April 1.

The dismissal also affects the National Health Institute and is part of a broad plan of Trump and his ally, billionaire Ilona Mask aimed at reducing the states of federal agencies. It is expected that about 10,000 people will be reduced in health care.

US Health Minister Robert F. Kennedy - the younger stated that the reduction in the CDC and FDA is necessary for "streamlining of bloated bureaucracy". At the same time, experts are concerned that it can affect medicines and emergency response.

According to the sources, among those who left the post in the FDA was Peter Stein, Director of the Department of New Medicines at the Medicinal Assessment and Research Center. He resigned after receiving the report of possible dismissal.

Brian King, Head of the FDA Tobacco Control Center, and Peter Marx, a high -ranking official who dealt with vaccines, was also released.

CDC staff worked at the National Environmental Health Center, Abuse of Psychoactive Substances and Mental Health, as well as at the National Immunization Center and Respiratory Diseases. Among them were specialists involved in response to measles outbreaks.

In January, the Trump administration founded the US Government Efficiency Department (Doge) under the leadership of Ilon Mask. The agency was entrusted with a large -scale reduction in federal employees in a number of state bodies to reduce the expenditures of the state budget.

Kevin Grifffis, a former CDC communications director, noted that reducing this scale usually takes months of preparation and can significantly affect the US health care system.
