According to Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolesnik, most of the country's energy objects are now provided with the so -called "second level" of protection, which can significantly reduce the effects of possible attacks.
When speaking at the Ukrainian Energy Security Dialogue 2024, the chariot explained that as part of the official plan of protection of energy infrastructure, most objects are already equipped with systems capable of minimizing the damage from shelling and attacks. The main component of complex protection is air defense (air defense). According to the official, to protect against great threats, such as Triton bombs, the only effective option remains their destruction before they reach the goals.
The chariot also emphasized the importance of hourly graphs of electricity restriction to stabilize the power system. This prevents overload and maintain a balance in electricity distribution in limited resources.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has repeatedly stated the extent of threats to the country's energy infrastructure. The chariot stressed that on August 26, Russia had a massive attack, using more than 260 weapons with a total cost of $ 1 billion. However, thanks to the joint efforts of international partners, in particular within the Energy Communities, Ukraine has been able to raise 700 million euros to support energy infrastructure.
