The UK Foreign Minister, David Cameron, has announced that the United Kingdom is willing to officially declare Palestinian state soon. He pointed out that the Palestinian people need to achieve "irreversible progress" in resolving the issue of two states.
Cameron considers the possibility of formal diplomatic recognition of Palestine not within the final peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, but at the stage of the negotiation process itself. He noted that the agreement would be difficult, but not impossible, demanding from Israel the release of all hostages, guarantees of non -interference of Hamas and the departure of its leaders from Gaza.
Foreign Minister stressed that the nature of the future Palestinian state depends on the UK. He also expressed the need for the rapid formation of a new Palestinian power with technocratic leadership.
Kemeron stated that the issue of recognition of the Palestinian state would be considered when certain progress would be made in resolving the issue of the two states. At the same time, he expressed optimism regarding the negotiations on the cessation of war in gas, noting the need for a steady ceasefire without returning to hostilities.
