The European Union Foreign Ministers are planning to meet in Kyiv on May 9, 2025. This date coincides with the celebration of Europe Day, as well as with the celebrations for the anniversary of Victory in the Second World War. The meeting in the capital of Ukraine aims to certify support from European states in the context of a continuous full -scale invasion of Russia.
This was reported by the head of the foreign policy department of France Jean-Noel Barro on the air of the TV channel. He stressed that he plans to be present in Kiev with other colleagues from Europe. In his opinion, the visit of ministers on this day will be an important gesture of political support and cooperation.
According to Barro, while in Moscow there will be celebrations related to historical events, in Kiev, European countries will demonstrate unity and solidarity with Ukraine.
The previous similar meeting of ministers took place in Kiev in October 2023. It was the first meeting of the EU Foreign Minister outside the European Union. The event was of great symbolic and practical importance, and a new meeting in 2025 was intended to continue this practice.
During the visit, it is planned to discuss further support of Ukraine, in particular in the defense, financial and humanitarian spheres, as well as deepening integration with European structures.
