The Ministry of Defense purchases special plastic army flasks for the Armed Forces, but the price for them is much higher than the market. The State Rear Operator Agency, established in December last year at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense's support office, spent more than UAH 54 million to purchase 153 thousand army flasks.
The price of one flask was 355 UAH, while the market price of similar flasks is 120 UAH, and their analogues can be found even for 72 UAH.
The first two attempts to buy flasks in January and April were canceled due to the mismatch of the technical specification of the Ministry of Defense. Subsequently, the agency concluded a direct agreement with Coltraine LLC by UAH 35.5 million.
The agency noted that the proposed "Koltraine" price was lower than that of other companies. In June, another agreement was made with LLC “Superform” for 53 thousand flasks for almost 18.8 million UAH, which is only cheaper for hryvnia than from Koltraine.
NGL.MEDIA found that similar American flasks in retail cost 120 UAH, and the cheapest offers - 72 UAH. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has created its standard flask on the basis of these flasks. The difference between them is only in translucent plastic and the inscription "property of the Armed Forces, not for sale".
The purchased flasks are ordered from the Chinese manufacturer Taizhou Huangyan Sigg Mold Co., a well -known supplier on Alibaba. At Alibaba, these flasks with the inscription "property of the Armed Forces, not for sale" are sold at $ 3.85 (154 UAH), and without inscriptions - $ 2.5 (100 UAH).
The investigation of NGL.Media showed that the net profit of "Coltraine" on the order of the Ministry of Defense amounted to at least 20 million UAH, and "Superform" earned 10 million UAH. Journalists believe that margin is about 200%.
