The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced inspections of military medical commissions (MMCs), which conduct medical examinations for mobilization. Such an initiative is aimed at eradicating violations in mobilization processes, which will ensure compliance with all necessary rules and standards. Lazutkin, a representative of the Ministry of Defense, said that the ministry is "very sensitive" to any violations, especially at the stages of medical examination and making decisions about fitness for service.
Lazutkin emphasized that responsibility for violation of mobilization procedures is distributed depending on the stage at which they occurred. If a violation is detected at the stage of a medical examination, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSHU) are responsible within the limits of the concluded contracts. However, in the case of incorrect conclusions of the VLK about fitness for service, the responsibility goes directly to the commission, and the response should be carried out by the Ministry of Defense.
Through these inspections, the Ministry of Defense intends to ensure the transparency and fairness of mobilization procedures, eliminating violations and increasing control over compliance with standards.
