Ukraine is actively implementing large-scale changes in the material support of the military. Taking into account the wishes of soldiers and modern challenges, the Ministry of Defense develops new models of clothing, protective equipment and unique solutions for female military personnel. The head of the Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lt. Col. Maksym Kayola, told about this during the SMALL TALK event.
According to Maksym Kayola, taking into account the needs of fighters, expressed directly "from the fields", became the basis of innovations. Among the main changes: New combat pants with built-in knee pads for comfort and protection. Combat shirt made of "Coolmax" fabric, which effectively wicks away moisture, providing comfort in hot conditions. Eight samples of body armor and helmets that have already been introduced into the army. In addition to the basic elements, the development of high-tech means of personal protection continues: a ballistic suit that protects against fragments. A suit for protection against thermal imaging systems, which will help in covert operations. Universal awning that can be used for various tasks in the field.
The increase in the number of women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine prompted the development of clothing and body armor that take into account the peculiarities of the female anatomy. A women's bulletproof vest has been developed, which should be lighter and fit better, providing freedom of movement and comfort. A summer suit of a special cut has been introduced, which is already issued to military personnel. We are developing underwear for the cold season, as well as winter jackets and pants.
All these innovations not only increase the comfort and safety of the military, but also demonstrate attentiveness to their needs. As Maksym Kayola emphasized, the main goal of the changes is to provide soldiers with everything necessary for effective performance of tasks under any conditions.
