The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine presented a project of the concept of the State Targeted Program for the Housing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and persons dismissed from military service. According to the press service of the department on April 9, the document is currently undergoing public discussion and has already been submitted to the central executive bodies.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense Sergey Melnik, the main purpose of the program is to create a transparent, fair and effective housing distribution system for the military. Priority includes participants in hostilities, families of fallen defenders, severely wounded military, as well as those who have completed the service.
"We strive to create a transparent and effective system that will take into account the needs of different categories of the military, and priority - participants of hostilities, families of dead, seriously wounded, dismissed from military service," Melnyk stressed.
Separate emphasis is on the digitalization of the housing process. This innovation will make the housing process more controlled and transparent, as well as prevent abuse by officials.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense has already approved a special algorithm for exclusion of official housing from the Ministry Fund. Such a step opens up the opportunity for thousands of families of military who live in business housing, to acquire the right to permanent residence in it.
It is expected that the implementation of the concept will not only improve the living conditions of servicemen, but will also become an effective step towards restoration of social justice, will increase motivation for service in the Armed Forces and promote the formation of a modern, professional army.
