According to the information of an unnamed employee of the special services of one of the Western countries, whose opinion is quoted by the NYT, the main factors that could lead to a new terrorist attack are the existence of dormant cells of the "Islamic State" in Europe, the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, and the alleged support of militants from Russian-speaking citizens.
"I am worried about the Olympic Games in Paris. They will become a prime target for terrorists ," said former UN counter-terrorism official Edmund Fitton-Brown.
