The International Damage Register for Ukraine has been expanded

Ukraine has taken an important step in the fight for compensation for the losses caused by Russian aggression, expanding the opportunities for applying to the International Damage Register - Register of Damage for Ukraine (RD4U). Ukrainians can now apply for six new categories that cover the most painful and mass violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

This was reported by the deputy head of the Presidential Office Irina Wise on her Facebook page. She noted that at a meeting with a delegation of a register of losses, headed by the Chairman of the Council Robert Spano, an extension of opportunities for those who suffered from Russia's aggression was discussed.

  1. Forced movements within the country (A1.1) - for those who were forced to leave their homes through the war.
  2. Serious bodily injuries (A2.3) - for persons who have suffered serious injuries due to Russian aggression.
  3. Sexual Violence (A2.4)-for persons who have been victims of sexual violence that is unacceptable in all circumstances.
  4. Torture or inhuman treatment (A2.5) - for those who have experienced a cruel or humiliating attitude.
  5. Deprivation of Liberty (A2.6) - for persons illegally held in captivity or other place.
  6. Forced labor or service (A2.7) - for those who were forced to work against their will.

You can apply through the action platform. Irina Wise added that detailed instructions can be found on the official website of the Register of losses: www.rd4u.claims .

The International Register of Loss, as the Wise noted, is only the first stage in the process of restoring justice for the affected Ukrainians. Currently, they are actively working on the creation of a commission that will consider applications, determine the amounts of compensation and form a compensation fund for payments.

"Each of your statement is proof. It is another nail into the coffin of the impunity of the aggressor. We all work together to ensure that Russia responds for every suffering and destruction," - summed up Irina Wise.
