The IMF will send its first mission to Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced its intention to send its first mission to Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine. This decision has caused considerable resonance in international economic circles and can have important consequences for the economic situation in Russia and international relations.

According to the Russian representative in the International Monetary Fund Alexei Mozin, the mission will begin in the online format on September 16 and will continue to be a visit to the IMF delegation to Moscow to meet with Russian officials until October 1. The delegation will be headed by Jacques Minkan from Argentina.

Meshin noted that in 2022 and 2023 there were no such missions, since Russia was expelled from this process "under pressure from Western countries".
