The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the so -called "presidential elections" in Abkhazia, which took place in the occupied Georgian territory. The Ukrainian Office emphasized that the country does not recognize this election, considering them as part of Russia's systematic attempt to legitimize the pro -Russian separatist regime. This is part of the wider policy of Moscow aimed at undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries in the post -Soviet space.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of international unity, noting that only the consolidated efforts of the world community, including the military support of Ukraine and strict compliance with Russian sanctions, can stop the Kremlin's ambitions to restore the empire through conflicts and ethnic cleansing.
In addition, Ukraine has expressed unchanged support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.
