National Bank sold the least currency for 2025

The National Bank of Ukraine this week significantly reduced the intervention on the sale of currency in the interbank market. According to the updated regulator data, the NBU has sold some more than $ 314 million in five working days - the lowest weekly since the beginning of 2025.

Compared to the previous week, sales decreased by almost 40%. Then the regulator sold $ 536 million to the interbank market.

At the same time, the National Bank made a purchase of currency for the second time - $ 10 million was purchased, which is a record for 2025.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the NBU has sold more than $ 10.2 billion in the interbank market, while the purchase volume is only $ 33.5 million. Such a disproportion indicates a high demand for currency against the background of a difficult economic situation in the country and the need to support the hryvnia.

Financial analysts say that a decrease in currency interventions may indicate short -term stabilization in the market or an attempt to reduce the costs of gold and foreign exchange reserves.
