The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) stated that by the end of 2025 gas, heating and hot water would not increase. However, given the situation in the energy sector, a gradual increase in tariffs to an economically sound level will begin from 2026.
This approach aims to reduce the financial pressure on the energy sector, as well as ensure the stability and investment attractiveness of the industry. The NBU noted that during the forecast period tariffs in housing and communal services (housing and communal services) can gradually increase.
However, the exact terms and parameters of changes remain uncertain, which can affect the inflation in the country. If tariffs for utilities and energy grows rapidly, it can lead to additional inflation and increase the need for subsidies to support the population.
At the same time, long -term maintenance of tariffs at the current level will have negative consequences for state energy enterprises, as the accumulation of quasi -fiscal imbalances will worsen their financial situation. This situation will lead to the threat of instability at the energy market, reducing the investment potential of the industry and postponing price pressure for the future.
The regulator stressed that the gradual increase in utility tariffs and excise duties will minimize these risks and will help stabilize the economic situation in the country.
