The National Antarctic Science Center has expressed its attitude to accusations that Russian information killers committed "manipulations" in connection with their tender for conducting research in the Antarctic for the amount of 11.6 million dollars.
In response to these accusations, the National Antarctic Science Center claims that all actions were carried out in accordance with the law and international standards.
There they say that it is impossible to spend this money on war, because it is allocated in the budget for exclusively humanitarian purposes, and is allocated by international partners strictly under the condition that it be spent on civilian needs.
They also say that the study of penguins, on which the media has concentrated its headlines, is far from the main element of research.
The center declares that they do not buy any special delicacies, because the products are bought in Chile and it is ordinary food there. And they buy so much, because they need to buy a supply for 14 people at once for a year.
The center declares that it is impossible to temporarily stop the missions to the Antarctic, because then the station will be destroyed.
