The network has found one of the largest databases in history, which contains 16 billion logins and passwords. This was reported by cybersecurity researchers who have worked on the investigation since the beginning of 2024. According to them, the leak is fresh and potentially dangerous.
Experts have found 30 separate data sets, each of which contains tens of millions to more than 3.5 billion records. The database contained credentials from popular services, including GoogleApple accounts, Facebook, GitHub, Telegram, VPN platforms, developers' sites, and some state resources.
This time it is not about re -publication of old bases - it is about new showers that can be used for phishing attacks, breaking accounts and unauthorized access to confidential systems.
Experts remind that cybersecurity depends not only on technologies but also on the personal responsibility of users. The main recommendations include changing passwords on important services, the use of password managers, the transition to access key, as well as caution with e -mail and messages, especially with unfamiliar sources.
