In the coming days, we can expect posts by optimistic bloggers who claim that the rating is bad, that the 1841 fund was created only yesterday, and that the situation is not so dire at all. They will talk about taxes in Ukraine, comparing them with European standards, and claim that corruption is everywhere. However, it should be noted that these words will not make our tax system more efficient, and it will remain one of the threats to our national security.
Positive economic journalists and bloggers, I have a few questions for you:
- In what other country is there a "mask-show" in the tax field? This is not found in Asian, European, or African countries!
- In which country, after receiving a request from the prosecutor, the judge passes a resolution to search the entrepreneur's house and discover the same documents?
- In which country are VAT and income tax paid in advance?
- In which country can the value-added tax be confiscated without trial and investigation, and the activity of the enterprise be blocked?
- In which country, after the decision of the Supreme Court on the illegality of refusing to register tax invoices, the tax service continues to block them?
- In which country does the tax inspector determine the fault, and where can this happen without a trial and investigation?
And this is just the beginning. Without details of administration, without a description of schemes of tax and customs authorities regarding smuggling, deception, price confusion, VAT refunds for fictitious exports, introduction of fictitious VAT into the SEA VAT system. Could you tell us about BEB?
The rating of "bad" tax systems takes into account not only all schemes, requirements and corruption in tax authorities, but also the quality of public administration:
- Democratic elections and transparency (try to recall Hetmantsev) or fire Marchenko or at least get the Prime Minister's annual report)
- Rule of law (do you have it?)
- Regulation (do you have deregulation?)
- Political stability (?)
- State efficiency (?)
- Control over corruption (?)
