NATO can place its base in Crimea after deoccupation: Dzhemilev's statement

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people and MP Mustafa Dzhemilev expressed the opinion that in the case of Ukraine's accession to NATO, the Alliance can place its base in Crimea after its de -occupation. In an interview with the edition of Crimea.

Dzhemilev noted that there were discussions on the future Crimea after the conflict. According to him, before full invasion, they discussed the opportunity to make Crimea a purely resort area deprived of military presence. However, Dzhemilev warned that it was necessary to be careful, referring to the aggressive policy of neighbors.

In addition, the head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov expressed a warning that in the event of leaving Crimea under occupation, this would be a constant threat to Ukraine and its independence. He stressed that it also threatens economic development, as all Ukrainian ports are located in the Black Sea.
