French special services recommend canceling the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris due to a terrorist threat.
This was reported by the Europe1 radio station with reference to a source in the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the country.
According to reports, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is already familiar with this threat. It is about a "scenario of a coordinated attack on the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in front of world television cameras."
"We need to go to plan B," says a source in the management. In his opinion, the current format of the parade of athletes on the Seine embankment poses too many risks to leave it as it was.
The Summer Olympic Games will be held in the capital of France from July 26 to August 11.
