The New York Times criticizes Kamala Harris for being passive in the election campaign

The New York Times, which previously supported Vice President Kamala Harris in her election campaign, began to express concern about her team's lack of campaign activity. The criticism comes amid new polls showing former President Donald Trump's popularity rising in key swing states.

According to journalist Maureen Dowd, Harris does not lack "urgency" in the fight against Trump.

"Time is short, very short. They need to be more aggressive. I don't get the impression that they have a predatory instinct. They lose chance after chance. I'm scared to death. They need to hit the enemy - and urgently," American political consultant Charles Carville told the author of the article.

The column compares Kamala Harris to Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump and "didn't campaign hard enough."

The author writes that the vice president's recent interviews did not bring results, because she only answered questions, and did not ask them to Trump's voters. At the same time, "even to simple questions from friendly TV presenters, Harris sometimes seemed unsure of the answers."

The journalist also writes that Harris does not have a common vision of his goals as president.

"It's hard to understand why she hasn't sat down with a notebook or laptop a long time ago to decide why she wants to be president, what her top priorities are and how she's going to implement them... Mostly, her argument is that she's not Donald Trump." - the article says.

"It's worrying that Harris can't overcome obstacles and overtake Trump... She needs to act so that we don't lose," the journalist sums up.
